We wanted to share this remarkable piece with you, written by Heidi Stephenson, an extraordinary activist and deeply compassionate soul, because it is sharp, to the point, and—most importantly—true.

It speaks plainly to a moral issue that people of faith cannot turn away from. It may also be uncomfortable to think about, but we must think about it.  We just must.

What is being done to animals at Hartshead Meats (and all slaughterhouses) is not only cruel—it challenges the sacred values of compassion, stewardship, and conscience that are central to our faith traditions.

This is not about ideology; it is about responsibility.

We believe this message is worth thoughtful consideration and worth sharing—with Christian friends, Jewish friends, Muslim friends, anyone who believes it is not acceptable to treat living beings in this awful way.

Speaking out matters.

This is our duty.

Thank you for taking a moment to read and reflect.
